Newton is an industry-leading applicant tracking software (ATS) platform with over 50,000 users.
Based on feedback from users, I concepted a major new feature for the platform – Interview Scorecards. Historically users provided feedback on candidates by writing a basic text review. This approach lacked structure and the quantitative reporting necessary to make hiring decisions on multiple candidates. I architected a comprehensive new tool, allowing users to build and distribute scorecards to collect rich, relevant data.
Iteration was paramount in the design process. With the involvement of a select group of Newton’s engaged user base, I was able challenge and redefine assumptions that had arisen in the initial product definition. Having designed, prototyped and tested the feature, I worked closely with dev teams in the US and China to oversee the implementation and release of the Interview Scorecard feature.
The Interview Scorecards feature has received praise from users, provided a unique selling point and resulted in a reduction in churn.
